reinventing Pong

when the dreariness of shilling for your daily bread becomes irksome and oppressive (and believe me: that two-bit tap dance is ALWAYS irksome and oppressive!), i’m shot for any creative thought. blank. useless.
anxious and antsy in the bleak, bitter post-shift hours, i used to find refuge with a few good hours of “Manhunt”: an perversely ultra-violent playstation gore-fest by the decent, hardworking people at rockstar games (i think). you see — after a grueling, mind-shriveling day in the salt mines…or what whatever the hell it is i do for a living, there’s nothing quite so satisfying, frankly, than bashing a man’head in with a baseball bat.
but then, after i beat the game, i was rather lost. adrift in a bog of late night t.v. and thumb twiddling, pacing between the couch and the refrigerator. but all that’s changed now that i’ve found “Destroy All Humans.” Probing the populous, collecting brain stems, and charing the very earth with a superheated death ray for the glory of the Furion Empire has filled a hole in my heart that was left when i disemboweled that last manhunt thug with a meathook.
ah, life which could be so merciful…….

“i’m at the point now where i’m not going to waste my time anymore with movies that don’t have zombies in them. life’s too short.”

we’re entertaining visitors from out-of-town and so left to show these cute little country mice around the city, which is kind of absurd seeing as how i’m a hermit and really don’t leave the deep, dark recesses of house for much of anything, save work or food, and the occasional bender. (you see: sunlight burns.) its like the blind leading the blind. or the socially anxious leading the blind.
offing complimentary Continental breakfast (a packet of mayonnaise and a gummy worm) plus a morning wake-up jab with a sharp stick, the accommodations at the 24th st. resort are admittedly plush. being the impeccable hosts we are, we asked our guests what they wanted to do more than anything else while in the San Francisco bay area. they had only one demand. they absolutely, positively could not go home with out seeing the house where “Full House” was filmed. it lead to an van-wide impromptu-to sing-a-long to “Everywhere You Look,” which i might add, really freaked out the neighboring motorcyclist.(oh, don’t act all cool: you know all the words. you would sing them in your stirrup pants and slouch socks with your plastered “bang-hawk” bouncing. you wanted to french uncle Jessie, admit it!)

today we stomped around in the foggy woods way up in the hills and everything looked impossibly perfect, like a freaking ansel adams picture. just the right amount of sun broke through at just the right moment to give us this post card perfect glimpse of the golden gate hanging in air surrounded by fog. yesterday, we did some traditional tourist-in’ and some fire walkin’ and some going away partyin’. (elowsky did some alcohol poisonin’) tomorrow, were doing some six flaggin’. tuesday: tatooin’.
tures soon.

if i could pick two words that summed up my fourth, overwhelmingly and surreally they would be “faux elvi.”

looking back, i didn’t think anything strange at the time about singing “treat me like a fool (love me)” in the shower this morning, but if i knew then what i know now………
